Commercial Concrete Leveling

Commercial Concrete Leveling

At Arizona Foundation Solutions, we believe in providing our clients with the best products and services available. In the commercial concrete leveling market, that means the use of the PolyLevel® leveling system, an innovative alternative to common concrete remediation methods like mudjacking, concrete grinding, and total concrete replacement.

PolyLevel® For Commercial Concrete Leveling

The process for PolyLevel® echoes that of traditional slabjacking. Once an issue is identified, such as a sinking slab of concrete on the sidewalk outside your business, holes are drilled in the required areas on the slab, which provide access to the soil beneath the slab itself. From there, expanding polyurethane compounds are injected through the hole and under the slab, which lifts the concrete back to the desired level and strengthens the piece as a whole. Depending on the specific application, the makeup of each compound can be tailored to best suit the needs of a given project.

Benefits Of PolyLevel®

Unlike traditional slabjacking, PolyLevel® lifts damaged, settled concrete slabs using a high-density polyurethane foam that weighs only 4 pounds per cubic foot. For reference, traditional slabjacking, which uses a similar process to lift settled slabs, injects concrete and other cementitious compounds with an average weight of roughly 120 pounds per cubic foot. The light weight and overall strength of the PolyLevel® material exerts only minimal additional pressure on the soil underneath the slab.

Additional Benefits

  • High Capacity: The lifting action of PolyLevel® results from the foam's expansion, which allows for a higher lift capacity than that of traditional slabjacking, which requires constant hydraulic pressure on the concrete filling.
  • Waterproof Material: The polyurethane injectable compound is waterproof once cured, which will not wash away under consistent water pressure, and can be used to under-seal the slab and stop additional leaks.
  • Non-Invasive Procedure: Equipment used to install PolyLevel® can fit easily in tight-access areas and does no permanent damage to the existing slab. The polyurethane material does not react with soils and will not leach harmful chemicals into the ground.
  • Quick Curing: Concrete repaired with PolyLevel® can sustain full structural or traffic loads after roughly 15 minutes of injection. Traditional concrete compounds can take days to cure properly.
  • Adjustability: Adjusting the density and expansive force of the 2-part foam affords a wide range of geotechnical uses. Lifting force can be adjusted by fine-tuning the chemical reaction that causes the foam to expand. An experienced applicator can factor not only the weight of the structural element but also soil characteristics and temperature and weather conditions. Special formulations are possible for applications where water must be displaced.
